Staying in touch on DEI in the workplace

It’s been a while, but I know how important diversity is in the workplace is to you. Today, I’m very thoughtful in contacting you to keep the conversation going.

It can sometimes seem like the energy we give toward DEI is not enough.

You might remember a time feeling more spirited about making the workplace better for folks who’ve been discriminated against. Or maybe you think that your colleagues and stakeholders have a waning interest in creating a more equitable workplace.

I like to remember a few things that keep me going:

Since systems change happens at the speed of its slowest part, your energy should go to the parts you can speed up.

The revolution will not be televised. You may be unaware of people just like you powering the same DEI changes you’re working towards.

Your energy is in the present - not the future or past. Be courageous in putting your energy toward the change you can create now.
